Air University (SOS) | LMS Data Analytics
APV has been a key partner providing on-site, full-time support to the Squadron Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base. A key aspect of our support is the analysis of student and faculty information captured by Air University’s CANVAS Learning Management System (LMS). Our analysis enables faculty to detect students requiring intervention and to identify potential topics for additional faculty training.
Our delivery team is using the Power Tools within Microsoft 365 to extract data from the LMS, correlate it with other data in the Air University Student Information System, and generate reports SOS leaders use to ensure the school is achieving Air Force and Joint Staff directed objectives for Outcome-Based Military Education.
Benefits/Outcomes
- Facilitates faculty members’ ability to rapidly detect and assist students who are having difficulties in their SOS coursework.
Allows SOS leadership to identify relevant topics for professional development of their 45+ faculty members.
Reports generated using APV’s application of MS Power Tools enables SOS to routinely provide detailed analytics to Air University.
APV’s efforts have reduced SOS’s data analysis and report creation process from days to hours.
